our papa...

my dad came to visit this past weekend, it was his first time meeting the girls...and well, im pretty sure they have him wrapped. he was such a great help to me, geoff was gone hiking the grand canyon, so it was just my dad and i taking care of these munchkins. papa jumped right in, he was feeding them, burping them, rocking them...every time they cried or even just made a squeak he was right there tending to there every need. it was great watching him interact with the kids, he taught coop how to take off his finger and put it back on again..so this is a funny story that goes way back to my childhood, you know that trick where you bend your thumb and cover it with your pointer then put it over the bent finger on your opposite hand and it appears to be removed then put back on...i can remember my dad playing this trick on me when i was very young and i was always soooo amazed at how this could be possible?? well my dad does this trick with pure perfection, even too this day it still looks so real to me. so papa finally showed coop and it was soo stinkin funny, i wish i would have had the camera at that moment, you should have seen coops face it was golden, priceless..i laughed so dang hard! his mouth hit the floor and his eyes were as big as golf balls and the first thing cooper said is "wheres the blood" go figure with coop he likes the guts and gore! papa did it over and over while coop sat and tried his hardest to figure it out, and then papa finally gave in and told him how he too could play this trick on some unsuspecting friend! so now coop knows how to take his finger off and put it back on, and if he didnt have to think so hard before getting it just right then it might look real too~needless to say we miss our papa it was a great weekend having him here with us!

here we have papa feeding and burping kynlee or as he would say..."giving it a little squeeze"(he is not really squeezing her although it does look like it )

Imaginations at work

Today cooper and kortlyn were playing for a very long time upstairs, while i was enjoying the peace and quiet of two napping babies, something spoke to me and said "why are they soooo quiet up there?" so i went to find out..this is our conversation:

Me: "hi guys"

Roo: "oh hi mom"

Me: "whatcha doin"

Roo: "playing honey, kids and spankings"(im assuming thats house)

Me: "oh yeah"

Roo: "OH YEAH we are soooo mad, they(her kids) are sooo grounded from binders(thats a poster she cant seem to remember that word..poster)giraffe's, kitchens, babies, TVs, strollers and coloring!"

Me: "wow thats pretty serious, what did they do?"

Roo: "oh um they sneeked into the cabinet and drank the syrup with a straw!"

Me: " MAN, good thing you grounded them, that is serious!!"

Rock a bye babies

Ok, so i look like a total mess in this photo but it was a very special moment for me, this was what my dreams were made of when i was pregnant with them...i dreamt of holding them like this through out my pregnancy and i didnt know if it was possible but i was going to try! And to my excitement..it worked! It was a little tricky getting us into this position but once we were into it, it was very comfy and we stayed this way for a while. thanks to my husband for purchasing this most fantastic recliner to spend 90% of my day in...LITERALLY! with two babies i dont move alot, i stay pretty much grounded to a ten foot radius.. i will rock one and bounce the other in a bouncy chair with my foot and almost everything i need is within reach!

My helper...

Kortlyn is such a great big helper, i couldnt be luckier to have her help me out during the day. My kids dont have many chores to do, they have it pretty easy...but the chore roo luvs to help me with the most is putting the "silvers" away. Unfortunatly my dishwasher is not working at the moment so she has to dry them too..that is not her favorite thing to do. So on this day i let her wear my apron (she was thrilled) and it put a big smile on her face. She felt like cinderella!
