Day one, was super exciting. Everyone woke up bright and early ready to go. It was not quite raining yet and we were hoping that the forecast was wrong, that things might just turn around for us. We purchased some Mickey shirts for the kids to wear and I had to take their picture in the hotel because I knew they would be covered up all day. I took 400 photos on this trip and I had to break down these blog posts into 3 days, so it wouldn't be too overwhelming. I have a Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 posts of our time at Disneyland.

We used our early morning entry and were allowed in 1 hour early. It was amazing to be there and have only a handful of people walking around with you. We took some pictures in front of the castle and had not one person around. When we walked through the gates it was still not raining. So the kids were amazed how cool Disneyland was and wanted to take a picture by everything.

This picture made me laugh. He says that Geoff was bumping him and that is why he looks terrified, but I think he was just a big chicken!! HAHA

It started raining after we hit about 4 rides and didn't stop for 2 days. I wanted one of those stroller covers that everyone had..but unfortunately this is what we had. Ponchos didn't quite to the trick of keeping them dry. We had to purchase ponchos from Disneyland so the girls could have some that fit.

When we put the ponchos on, they became upset. At this point we were soaked and not happy. This kids had asked to go back to the hotel, which made me so sad and a little angry. We had worked so hard for this trip, planning and keeping it a secret. We wanted it to be amazing, because our kids deserve it. Rain, made it extremely hard to find the happiness at the happiest place on earth.

So we pushed through our discouragement and tried to find some fun. We went up to Toon Town, in hopes of meeting Micky or something. It was really raining and everyone had sad faces on..including Geoff and I. The rain was so weird, it was like a mist that you really couldn't feel falling but soaked you from head to toe in minutes. The strangest rain I had ever seen or felt.

No Micky, at that time. So we decided to go back to the room, to eat lunch and dry off.

Kaylee liked the rain. She pretty much didn't care either way that she was wearing soggy shoes and wet clothes. She was gonna have fun.

We headed back to Disney about 5 o'clock. It was raining pretty good and it was pitch black outside..crazy. When the shuttle arrived, the bus was packed with people. Tons of people got off..soaking wet and done for the day. We were the only ones getting on. We were a little concerned about that. Maybe we were stupid for trying to go back when it was raining so hard.

We were not stupid..we had figured out a little secret. That when you take a break during the day when everyone is there and go back at night...you get all the rides to YOURSELF. Nobody was there..not a soul! We walked on to Pirates and had our own boat, walked on to splash mountain and we rode that a few times in a row..but rode it 6 times over the three days we were there. We also rode Indiana Jones 2 times in row with no wait..it took longer to walk to the front of the ride than it did to actually ride it. It was amazing.

The girls were so tired. They didn't nap earlier, despite being at the hotel for a few hours. I this picture of them while Geoff, Coop and Roo were riding splash mountain. I sat down next to them and they fell to sleep on each other. I sat holding them for 10 minutes until Geoff could help me.
