Our first ER trip

We had our first trip to the ER yesterday. I just need to say, I have never had an accident or injury that required emergency room attention with any of my children before! So, here's the story..my mom has been staying with us for a few days and yesterday we decided we were going to have a big breakfast. I needed a few things so my mom and I headed to the store to pick up what we needed. It was only a quick trip so I left the kids with Geoff. While we were at the store, we get a call from Geoff..he said Kaylee cut her finger off, you need to get home now! I am a bit of a worry wart, so I will always imagine worst possible outcome. I pictured her finger off and on the floor! I get home and find this..Kaylee and Kyn had found a pair of scissors..nobody really witnessed what happened, but from the looks of it I imagine they were fighting and Kyn cut Kays finger ALMOST off! She literally cut her finger in half..through the nail and everything. It was really bad and she was screaming..we took her to the Gilbert Hospital(which might I say is a really nice hospital) we had to take some x-rays to make sure they didn't nick the bone. The Dr. informed me that in order to stitch her up..they would have to sedate her..they had to remove her fingernail and gave her six stitches in her itty bitty finger! She put up a good fight through the whole thing..I think the worst part for her was when they put that dang bracelet on her ankle..its kinda funny but she was so mad about that, even after she woke up she was still trying to pull it off. I hate having injured children, it broke my heart to see her tiny little finger laid open like that and knowing how bad that must have hurt. After she woke up they gave her a balloon and some Oreo's. She was happy to get up and walk out..waving bye-bye to everyone who helped her. We are on the mend, and trying to keep the bandages on..its a work in progress.
