I have ant problem..its only a
minor problem. Considering they are pretty much confined to one shelf in my pantry. I have noticed them the last couple of days and chose to blame it on the rain. We have really only
had
two good pours all summer but still..its a reasonable excuse. So for the last couple of days..every time I would find myself needing something from the pantry..I would see the ants, get a little bugged out and start going on this killing spree. Once I have killed them all, I would feel safe enough to close the pantry after retrieving what I was in there to get in the first place. But upon every return I would find a few more..and I started throwing away boxes of cereal, or bags of chips, anything that was open. UNTIL..this morning! I was needing some oil..for our breakfast. I open the door into the pantry and was horrified by the mass number of ants..they had literally tripled or quadrupled over night..with a minor panic attack, I calmed myself and began to search for their source of calling..what do they want! I had nothing left..it was strange they were only roaming the one shelf, centrally located in the pantry, third from the bottom and third from the top. I found the few strays here and there..clearly lost and searching for the mother load! My eyes spotted lots and lots in one corner of the shelf and when I moved the unopened box of pasta..I see it! The ants scatter like roaches, so fast in every direction..I couldn't kill them fast enough..I started to panic again..HELLLPPPP! I calm myself again..and see that my cute little bear shaped jar of honey was left open, the pop top just slightly ajar. There is a thick layer of dead ants inside..the ones who were smart and survived the mass suicide were still fleeing and I was trying to kill them and remove the honey graveyard from my pantry. I am positive now, finding the golden glory they were after and removing it from my home we should be ant free..crossing my fingers.
